Gwangjang Market
Gwangjang Market Food Tour: Bindaetteok, Yukhoe Tangtangi and Yukjeon
Gwangjang Market is Seoul's most famous food market, open since 1905. Our tour eats through its classics: crispy mung bean bindaetteok fresh off the griddle, mayak gimbap, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and yukhoe tangtangi with chopped live octopus, and yukjeon — pan-fried slices of beef in egg batter — with a local guide who knows which stalls Koreans line up for.

Common questions
Is yukhoe tangtangi safe to eat?
+
It is a popular Korean dish served fresh at specialist stalls. The chopped octopus can still move, so chew well. If you prefer cooked food, we'll order yukjeon and bindaetteok instead.
When is the market busiest?
+
Evenings and weekends are lively and crowded. We go at times that balance atmosphere and shorter lines.
